Tartan Pools drains and refills pools, acid washes plaster and cleans calcium off tile in San Tan Valley. A drain and refill resets water that can no longer be balanced, an acid wash removes stains from the pool surface, and tile cleaning takes the white calcium line off the waterline.
Every job is quoted in writing for your pool before any work starts, based on the pool's size, its surface and what it needs. Tartan Pools is a licensed Arizona contractor, ROC #349378.

✔ Stabilizer (CYA) is too high: it builds up from chlorine tablets and does not filter out, and at high levels chlorine stops working well. Replacing water is the only fix.
✔ Calcium and dissolved solids are too high: evaporation leaves minerals behind, the water turns dull or cloudy and scale forms on tile and equipment.
✔ Stains that chemicals will not lift: metal, leaf and mineral stains often need the pool empty and an acid wash.
✔ After a bad green pool: sometimes the fastest way back to clean water is a drain and refill. See green pool cleanup in San Tan Valley.
✔ Before surface repairs: plaster and pebble repairs need the pool empty.
Your technician tests the water and tells you whether a drain will fix the problem or whether chemistry can. We do not drain a pool that does not need it.
Drain and refill: new water, balanced from scratch. The right call when the water itself is the problem.
Acid wash: the pool is drained and a controlled acid solution takes a thin layer off the plaster to remove stains and brighten the surface. It is not something to repeat every year.
Tile and calcium cleaning: we remove calcium from tile with natural-media blasting, usually without draining the pool. See pool tile cleaning.
Many pools get two or all three in one visit, and they are quoted together.
Text or call. Tell us what you are seeing. A photo of the pool helps.
Water test and quote. We test the water, look at the surface and quote the work in writing. You approve it before anything starts.
Drain and clean. We drain the pool following local discharge rules, clean out the floor and walls, and acid wash or clean tile if that is part of your quote.
Refill and startup. We refill, balance the new water and check the equipment before the pool goes back into normal use. You get a photo report of the finished job.
Many owners drain between January and March. Cooler weather is easier on exposed plaster, and new water is easier to balance before summer. In the hottest months we plan the job so the surface is not left empty in the sun for long.
