Some pools need a plan. Some just need to be cleaned, properly, by someone who will send you a photo when it is done. Tartan Pools handles both from our office on S 187th Place in Queen Creek. This page covers the cleaning work itself: one-time cleanups, green-to-clean recoveries, filter cleanings, tile cleaning for the calcium line, and drain and acid wash jobs. If you are looking for the weekly plan, that lives on our weekly pool service page.
Every cleaning is done by one of our own local technicians, never a subcontractor. You get a text when we are on the way, GPS confirmation that we were there, and a photo report of the finished pool.
✔ One-time cleanup: skim, brush, vacuum, baskets and a full chemical correction for a pool that has been let go for a few weeks.
✔ Green-to-clean: algae recovery for pools that have turned. From $300, typically $300 to $700.
✔ Filter cleaning: cartridge and DE filters pulled, cleaned, inspected and reassembled.
✔ Tile cleaning: removing the calcium scale line that Queen Creek water leaves at the waterline.
✔ Drain and acid wash: for stained or scaled plaster and for water that is too old and too hard to balance.
✔ Storm cleanup: after a monsoon haboob drops half a field into the pool.
Queen Creek pools fight three things that pools in central Gilbert or Chandler mostly do not:
Farm and desert dust. Open fields and raw desert ring the town. Between July and September the storms carry that dirt into every pool from Orchard Ranchettes to Emperor Estates, and it settles on the floor as a fine brown film.
Calcium-heavy fill water. Topping off a pool through a 110-degree summer adds calcium every time. It shows up as scale on the tile and a pH that will not stay down.
Heat and evaporation. Chlorine burns off faster at 110 than at 90, and a pool that misses two weeks in July can be green by the third.
A green pool in Queen Creek is usually a two-visit job, sometimes three in the middle of summer. Here is how we run it:
Day one: we net the heavy debris, test the water, clean the filter and shock the pool hard enough to kill the algae rather than just hide it.
Day two or three: we brush, vacuum the dead algae off the floor, clean the filter again and bring the chemistry back into range.
Finish: a photo report of clear water, the final readings, and a straight answer about whether anything on the equipment pad contributed to the problem.
If the pool has been green for months, or the water is so old and hard that no amount of chemical will balance it, a drain and acid wash is often the better value. We will tell you which one you actually need instead of selling you both.
Green-to-clean starts at $300 on our current special and typically runs $300 to $700 by pool size and condition. Filter cleanings, tile cleanings and drain and acid wash jobs are quoted individually from a photo and your pool size, and the price is confirmed before any work begins. Check the specials page before you book.
Most Queen Creek customers who call us for a green pool never need a second one, because they move to weekly service once the pool is clear. Weekly plans run from $140 per month plus chemicals, and the chems-included plan from $179 per month takes chemicals off your list entirely. Either way you keep the same technician, the pre-visit text, the GPS-logged stop and the photo report.
We also clean pools in Ironwood Crossing and Encanterra in San Tan Valley, and across Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler and Tempe. If you need vacuuming or skimming on its own, those pages explain how each fits in.

Our green-to-clean special starts at $300, and most Queen Creek jobs land between $300 and $700 depending on how far gone the water is, the size of the pool and the condition of the filter. We quote from a photo and confirm the price on site before we start.
Yes. Queen Creek water is heavy in calcium, so a scale line at the waterline is almost universal here. We offer tile cleaning as a stand-alone job or paired with a drain and acid wash, and we tell you honestly which one your tile needs.
During monsoon season we hold time each week for storm cleanups. Text a photo to (480) 999-9226 and we will give you the next open slot. If you are already on a weekly plan, your regular visit usually handles it.
No. One-time cleanings, filter cleanings and green pool recoveries are available on their own. Many customers do move to weekly service afterward because it is the most economical way to keep the pool from needing another deep clean.
