Depends on your water. On city water we usually get 3 to 5 years out of an AquaRite cell. On well water in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley the mineral load is rougher, closer to 2 to 3 years unless you stay ahead of the cleaning. We install the larger T-15 cell and run it at lower output instead of a small cell maxed out — same chlorine, less wear, often an extra season. Replacement cells run $1,400-$2,200.
It's Hayward's full automation system: a touchscreen plus a phone app (and Alexa or Google voice) that runs your pump speed, heater, salt system, lights, and water features from one place. It's handy here for setting the pump to run during off-peak power hours without thinking about it. Installed it runs $3,500-$5,500 depending on how much you want it controlling. If you only need basic control, ProLogic does less for less.
